Making the Most of Video Marketing $$$$

Individuals and businesses need to be cost conscious. It’s a fact of life. We’re all looking for ways to get the most from our money, and that includes our marketing dollars.

Many of our clients who are interested in using video in their marketing mix, are doing so in a very strategic way. One example is Rebecca P. Photography.

Becky Plautz, owner of Rebecca P. Photography, creates intimate portraits of women. Her business is built around the phrase “fearlessly feminine” – something she helps her clients achieve through her naturally lit photos and easy going approach.

We recently completed production for three videos that Becky is using on her social media channels, and will soon be using on her soon to be updated website. We scripted the videos, and shot all the footage for the videos at once. Becky needed a quick turn around on the first video so she could premiere it at a bridal show. (We shuffled a few things around and made it happen.) Then we finished the other two videos.

By shooting for all three scripts in one day of field production we were able to keep gear and crew costs down and we carefully pre-planned locations and shots to maximize our time. Pieces of the narration we recorded were used in two or more of the videos. We could probably even pull another short video or two from the remaining footage in the future, further extending Becky’s investment.

All three videos give the viewer an inside glimpse into the experience of an intimate portrait photo shoot. Becky’s warm and friendly personality shines through as she explains the process, and her client’s comments about the experience are enthusiastic but natural and unrehearsed.

Becky has been sharing the videos on social media and feels that they are partially responsible for a recent uptick in her portrait session bookings.
