It's been a while since I posted here. It's early July in Wisconsin. The weather is beautiful and life is busy.
We have such a short window of warm weather here that most of us try to pack in as much outdoor time - amid work and business commitments - as possible. I am no exception. But when I can conduct my work outside, I'm able to satisfy two imperatives at once.
I am able to take my workstation out on my deck to work on most projects. While I keep up with client needs, I am also spending much needed time in the summer breeze, the clicking of my keyboard accompanied by birds singing from nearby trees.
Last month I had the opportunity to film several interviews for my current documentary project, Honor in the Air, at a picnic. We also filmed a helicopter flight over a rural area. We are now done with interview filming for the doc and are beginning the editing process while we continue to raise funds to cover project expenses and creatives' time. We are finishing up our mobile app project for the National Alliance for Drug Endangered Children (funded through a grant from the Office of Victims of Crime). It has been inspiring to work with the dedicated National DEC staff and other project partners to make this free mobile app, CheckDEC, a reality.
