Clear Focus Media Earns Awards

On Thursday November 17, Wisconsin filmmakers gathered at Madison's Bartell Theater to celebrate their craft with the WAVE Awards. This annual event is a program of the Madison chapter of the Media Communications Association - International.

Susan Reetz of Clear Focus Media, LLC (formerly of Rucinski & Reetz Communication) was there and accepted two awards.

The first was for the documentary Missing Threads: The Story of the Wisconsin Indian Child Welfare Act. Other production team members included Colleen Parquette (Shadow Collaborative, Mosinee), Michelle Danforth (Oneida Nation, Green Bay) and Brian Alberth (Left Effect Media, Madison). The film also showed at the Green Bay Film Festival, Vision Maker Film Festival (Lincoln, Nebraska), Albuquerque Film and Music Experience (AFME), and the McMillan Library Film Festival, and won 2016 Best Short Documentary at AFME.

The second award was received for Passion = Purpose, a video produced for Peoples State Bank’s annual meeting. The video featured interviews with three staff members describing what makes them passionate about their work. Filming and editing were done by Shadow Collaborative.
