What have we been up to lately? Glad you asked. We've been rather busy. So busy, we haven't had time to post an update here in a while. But it's a good busy. A productive busy.
Here's a quick summary of some projects we've been working on...
Honor in the Air: Remembering Captain Scott Alwin - On August 31, Pamela Fullerton (my co-producer for the project) and I took a trip to the Wisconsin State Historical Society Archives in Madison where we lost ourselves in boxes of materials related to Scott Alwin's life, including his service during the Vietnam War. We're continuing our fundraising efforts and plan to film at the 68th Assault Helicopter Company reunion in late October. To learn more about this project, go to HonorInTheAir.com.
Howard Young Foundation: Defining Moments Magazine - We're working with Foundation staff to pull together interviews and write copy for the Winter magazine. This is always a feel-good project and it's an honor to tell the stories of the many worthy efforts of the Foundation, its donors, and the community. You can read past issues of the magazine at HowardYoungFoundation.org.
National Alliance for Drug Endangered Children (DEC)- We're nearing the completion of phase one of a mobile app project that will connect children and their families living in dangerous drug environments, and the professionals who work with them, to resources within their community. The goal is to help the whole family and support the many professionals who provide services to these populations. We've been working with National DEC staff, the development team at Fox Valley Technical College and others on app design/development and testing the app. We networked at the combined Tennessee DEC/National DEC conference August 23 - 27 in Nashville, assisted in some filming, continue to monitor project deadlines, and prep for the second phase of the project. For more information about National DEC, go to NationalDEC.org.
It's been nice catching up with you, but we really need to get back to work now. 'Till next time...
